Baluku Murugahara Patrick

Patrick currently serves as Livelihood Programs officer on KAWODA’s CARE/CASCADE project, which works to improve food security and reduce malnutrition among women of reproductive age and children under five. His role spans capacity-building for community facilitators and health teams, VSLA methodology and post-harvest handling training, and establishing nutrition-sensitive, climate-smart demonstration gardens across project communities.

Before joining KAWODA, Patrick held roles as an Economic Strengthening and Livelihoods Officer with ACORD Uganda, a SILC Field Supervisor with Caritas Kasese, and a Credit Officer and Acting Credit Manager with Equity Bank Uganda — experience spanning savings-group methodologies, financial inclusion, credit risk management, and community-driven livelihood programming. He has trained hundreds of community members and facilitators across the Rwenzori region, including VSLA methodology trainings for community-based trainers in Mubende, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kikuube, Hoima, Kagadi, Kasese, Fort Portal, and Kabarole Districts, and financial literacy training for 43 women’s groups under a Bank of Uganda initiative.

Patrick is known for his results-oriented approach, strong team collaboration, and commitment to building the capacity of the communities KAWODA serves.
